Rural Fire Brigades Association of Queensland

The Rural Fire Brigades Association of Queensland represents 34,000 volunteer bush firefighters in Queensland who dedicate their time to protecting the lives, property and environment of the state.
These volunteers manage fire on 93 per cent of the land area of Queensland, spread over some 1600 brigades and 2400 fire warden districts. They are largely funded by community fundraising, from which the RFBAQ Grants are derived, and local government levies, plus a contribution by the state government through the Rural Fire Service.
